A homeowner in Sutton, MA wanted to add a bright, year-round sunroom onto the back of their ranch. We framed out the new addition, tied it cleanly into the existing roofline, and wrapped the whole structure with Tyvek HomeWrap and ZIP System flashing tape so it stays dry for the long haul. The total project came in around $80k.
What We Did
- Designed and framed a new sunroom addition off the back of the home
- Tied the new roof into the existing structure with proper flashing and pitch
- Installed large American Craftsman windows on three sides for maximum light
- Wrapped the exterior in DuPont Tyvek HomeWrap and taped seams with ZIP System flashing tape
- Installed new soffit, fascia, and aluminum drip edge
- Prepped the walls for matching siding to blend with the existing house
The Result
The family gained a bright, comfortable sunroom that feels like a natural extension of the home. With three walls of windows and a properly insulated, weather-tight envelope, the space is set up to be enjoyed in every season.
